Have you ever received a chemical peel?

im giving myself a home chemical peel ive applied the chemical 5 times, allowing each coat to dry each time, it just stings when i put it on but so far my face is feeling normal...no burning or anything. Is this how it is suppose to feel? I have done this before with one or two coats but the places i put it on did not peel AT ALL. funny enough I have very sensitive skin
I'm using 20% Salicylic Acid
